Festuca glauca - Blue Fescue. A compact, silvery-blue ornamental grass that holds its colour year-round. Festuca glauca, commonly known as Blue Fescue, is a compact ornamental grass admired for its striking silvery-blue foliage and neat, rounded form. Fine-textured leaves create year-round colour and contrast, making it an excellent choice for contemporary landscapes, native gardens, rockeries and container plantings.

In late spring, delicate flower stems rise above the foliage, adding movement and texture. Its distinctive blue foliage pairs beautifully with flowering perennials and native plants, creating a natural yet refined aesthetic.

Appearance: Fine-leaved low-growing tussock grass with slender blue-grey foliage all year. Plants develop to a dense, rounded clump.

Uses: Ideal used in rockeries, groundcover in borders, lawn alternative, edging, cottage style gardens, baskets and pots. Try planting within the foreground of a mixed selection of contrasting ornamental grass varieties for maximum impact.

Planting: Plant in a full sun or partly shaded position in the garden. Suited to container planting. Tolerates dry periods and cool climates., completely frost hardy

Care: Mulch and water well until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks. Fertilise with a slow release fertiliser during spring. Divide and replant every four or five years.
