Bila (Wiradjuri: Water) is a song about remembering our connection to Country.
Co-written with a Wiradjuri brother, this piece celebrates water as the lifeblood of the land, carrying stories, spirit, memory, and life across generations. Inspired by the rhythms of rivers, sky, earth, and the voices held within nature, Bila weaves together didgeridoo, world music, and organic soundscapes into a journey of belonging.
The song speaks of walking gently on Country, honouring Elders, embracing community, and recognising that the same pulse that flows through rivers also flows through each of us.
It is a reminder that when we listen deeply, we discover we are part of a much greater living story.
