The Language of the Elders — Episode 1, What the Forest Shares
There is a coastal forest I walk often. I know its light at different times of year, the way the canopy holds sound, which trees have been here the longest. Over time, I have learned to listen — not just to the sounds but to the presence of the place itself.
This first episode is an offering from that relationship. It begins with an insight received from the elder of the forest — the oldest, most rooted presence in that place. What came through was something about language: the way living systems communicate, remember, and sustain themselves across time. Not metaphor. Something closer to a transmission.
What the Forest Shares is a podcast rooted in the philosophy of non-separation — between human and natural systems, between the personal and the ecological. Each episode is a field note from a living relationship with place.
